I’m getting ready to be away for my annual retreat to Big Bend. I take some time each December to reflect on the previous year and seek guidance for the year to come. I’ve been sober for 21 years on December 12. Last year I heard the Lord share with me that He desired to have me, not my sobriety, and so I’ve been focusing this year on giving all of myself to God.

The result has been an awesome year of spiritual growth and adventure. But 2011 awaits. What will the coming year be like?

I’m intrigued by the thought of minimising my life and possessions, by transforming my life in new ways in preparation for the great transformation of 12-12-12.

I’m just reflecting right now, but I’ll have more as I return from my trip away.
